Correspondence, photocopies of government documents, photographs, and other materials used in researching folklore and odd anecdotes re life during World War II on the home front and in the armed services. Topics include use of dogs, pigeons, bats, and other animals during World War II; Project Sea Hunt; UFOs; the Bermuda Triangle, and the Philadelphia experiement. Correspondence with veterans and civilians involved with the projects discussed in the book includes letter, 15 July 1980, Boston, Mass., from B.F. Skinner, who enclosed his published account of "Project Pigeon"; other letters discuss efforts by the U.S. Army to curb spread of venereal disease; to spy on potentially disloyal soldiers; etc. Collection also includes photocopied typescript of final draft (281 sheets) and the completed book as published.
